The Holy Bowly

On Sunday April 10th we loaded up an RV and headed to Mammoth Lakes California site of the 2016 Holy Bowly. We brought along Leif Draznin French local filmer of Chuuch fame to help out. Our mission was to shred, buy full strength beer, and produce a yet to be released edit. The edit is forthcoming, but we felt it only right to give a quick write up about the event.

There probably isnt too much to tell you that you dont already know about The Holy Bowly. After a season's hiatus The Holy Bowly returned with a bang in 2016. Mammoth built the biggest course to date (twice the size of the PC course from 2014) with some amazing features most notable being the on hill replica of the cradle from the local Volcom JLA skatepark.

With the exception of a few windy days the weather played nice, and over all the event was sunny and slushy which is exactly how you want the Holy Bowly to be. Riders from all over the world descended upon Mammoth's Southpark at Chair 4 and the sessions were heated.

Veteran Holy Bowly riders such as Ted Borland, Chris Beresford, and Jessie Burtner wasted no time finding lines and flowing through the park one after another. Other crews including DDay, LTC, DWD, and Jetpack did the same as the signature "organized chaos" of the event quickly took hold.

Not to leave the festivities on the snow a series of apres (I hate that term) events also went down including a LibTech picnic/skate session at the Volcom brothers/ JLA skatepark, karioke night, and finally an evening of music with Jamie Lynn and Wes Makepeace aka Tittyfish. It was indeed an event for the ages.

Special thanks goes out to Mammoth Mountain and the Unbound Park Crew, Lib Tech, Monster Energy, and of course Krush Kulesza and Snowboy productions. Thank you so much for the invite, and we cant wait to drop the video!
